The Mural Revisited

Context here is important. Some 24 years after the mural was sealed behind a wall, scholarly research highlights its meaning and importance. That realization inspires a new effort to preserve the mural.

Here we have a number of pictures showing how the wall was cut open to expose  a small portion of the mural. Damage was clearly visible, the effect of insulation being placed too close to the mural.

New Owner, New Opportunities

What actually happened is that the committee reached out to Offenhartz, and began to devise a plan to fundraise for the purpose of exposing the entire mural. Perhaps there could be some mention of the players involved.

As money is raised, it is invested in opening up the wall, and hiring conservator Connie Silver to evaluate the condition of the mural and determine necessary steps to protect it.
